I was out with relatives recently and stopped by to see an old neighbour who’d moved. Their new place is actually pretty old – a stone cottage out in the country. Very idyllic of course. Full of characterful things around it too. The old barns next door that offer a splendid shelter for plants – the mellow brick wall that reflects the sunlight beautifully across the adjoining patio slabs. The couple have put a dear little patio set near that wall and it’s amazing how warm and sunny breakfast always feels these days! They’ve chosen a pretty little metal framed set that really does reflect the Victorian cottage garden appearance. The choices these days are amazing, but for the most appealing garden scene, choosing the right patio furishings for the era and desired scheme takes time – and a good supplier.
